Aussie Broadband (ABB) has launched a new white-label solution, allowing other businesses to sell the company’s internet under their own brand.

The telco giant has already signed its first customer up to the new solution — a major retailer with more than three million customers across Australia.

ABB hasn’t disclosed the customer’s identity due to privacy reasons, but the company did disclose it expects to transfer more than 25,000 of the retailer’s existing broadband services to its own network by 2022.

Aussie will also provide customer support, service delivery, account and credit management as part of the deal, while marketing and sales work will stay with the retailer.

The telco’s new white-label solution provides NBN, Opticomm and voice over IP services, as well as the choice of Aussie Broadband’s product cycle.

“We have built scalability into our network and support platform to take on additional white label customers as it is an important pillar in Aussie Broadband’s growth strategy,” Managing Director Phillip Britt said.

“The market is evolving as we’re seeing a number of well-known Australian retail brands across several industries either looking to expand into telecommunication services under their own label or needing a higher quality customer experience for their existing telco customer base to match their brand promise,” he added.

Along with the new white-label solution, Aussie has confirmed an extra 30,424 new connections were added over the March quarter.

The company said the majority of the new connections over the period came from residential broadband customers.

At the close of market on Tuesday, shares in Aussie Broadband were trading up 4.07 per cent at $3.07 per share.
