A-Cap Energy (ACB) has appointed Dr Andrew Tunks as CEO to lead the upcoming feasibility studies on two of its projects.

Dr Tunks has more than 30 years of experience, holding multiple leadership and exploration roles during this time.

Previously, he was Managing Director of Meteoric Resources (MEI), a role he resigned from on June 3, and Managing Director of A-Cap from 2006 to 2011.

During his time at A-Cap, he led the development of the Letlhakane Project in Botswana from its discovery to its first drill hole to one of the world’s largest uranium resources.

Dr Tunks holds a B.Sc. Honours from Monash University and a PhD. in Economic Geology from the University of Tasmania. He is also a member of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists.

“I am delighted at being asked to come back to lead A-Cap Energy. The discovery and growth of Letlhakane and the excellent technical team we built in Botswana was a highlight of my career,” Dr Tunks commented.

“The addition of the Wilconi nickel-copper project puts A-Cap in the centre of the clean energy world and will provide an exciting time for our shareholders as we progress both projects.”

A-Cap Chairman Jiandong He said Dr Tunks’ appointment could drive a new phase of growth for the company.

“Dr Tunks is a seasoned mining veteran with wide experience spanning many facets of the resources industry, and several countries including Botswana and Australia where our projects are located,” Mr He said.

“Given his track record, and significant A-Cap history, Dr Tunks is the perfect candidate to lead the company during its next phase of growth.”

Shares in A-Cap were steady on the market and were trading at 8.8 cents at 12:20 pm AEST.
