Alliance Aviation (AQZ) has secured a five-year extension to its contract with Santos.

The extension will see Alliance continuing to provide flights on behalf of Santos to their oil and gas operations in South Australia’s Cooper Basin.

Services will continue to operate from both Adelaide and Brisbane to Santos’ Moomba and Ballera airports.

As part of the extension, intra-field services connecting Moomba and Ballera will commence.

Further, flights between Perth and Karratha in WA, that began during the COVID-19 pandemic, will continue.

Alliance has been in partnership with the energy giant since 2006. If the full five-year extension is completed, the airline will have been operating for Santos for around 20 years.

Alliance’s Chief Executive Officer, Lee Schofield, said the contract extension was won by “Alliance’s ability to continue to operate safe, reliable and cost-effective air charter services for Santos”.

“Once again our operational expertise has proven to be the key to retaining long term contracts and increasing existing schedules and our national footprint was a significant factor,” he continued.

Shares are 8 per cent higher at $4.47 at 3:33 pm AEDT.
