Alto Metals (AME) has discovered a new gold zone within its wholly-owned Sandstone gold project in Western Australia.

The gold zone, which has been named “Juno”, was discovered at the Lords Corridor south of the Orion lode.

Alto conducted reverse circulation (RC) drilling along the southern extent of the Lords Corridor which intersected broad zones of gold mineralisation across a 600-metre strike in the newly defined zone.

Juno is considered to be an extension of the mineralised zone below the Lord Nelson pit which is outside the current resource and now extends for over one kilometre of strike that remains open.

Best results from the Juno zone include 13 metres at 5.1 grams of gold per tonne (g/t) including three metres at 17g/t gold from 168 metres.

Managing Director, Matthew Bowles, commented on the results.

“The results from the new Juno lode are outstanding, with high-grade mineralisation intersected further along the Lords Corridor, and clearly demonstrates the potential for further growth,” he said.

“Juno is considered a previously undiscovered extension of the mineralised zone below the Lord Nelson pit, outside the current resource, which currently extends for over a kilometre strike and remains open.”

Alto has also received results from RC and diamond drilling which targeted extensions below and to the south of the Lord Nelson pit as well as the Orion lode.

Best and latest results from Lord Nelson include 45 metres at 3.2g/t gold from 161 metres including five metres at 17.5g/t gold from 162 metres while best results from Orion include 21 metres at 3.5g/t gold from 76 metres.

AME said the results received so far highlight the continuity of high-grade gold mineralisation at depth and demonstrate the potential for more discoveries and resource growth at the Sandstone project.

Assays are pending for 10 diamond holes and over 100 RC holes over multiple areas within the project.

Company shares were up 2.41 per cent to trade at 8.5 cents at market close.
