Anova Metals (AWV) has begun the 2021 reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at its Big Springs gold project in Nevada.

A total of 26 RC holes, for 5100 metres, will be drilled to test four new district-level targets identified via a targeting study undertaken earlier in the year.

Drilling will also test the high-grade gold mineralisation at the North Shoot and the 401 deposit.

The first two targets lie along the Beadles Creek Fault and connect the Beadles Creek and South Sammy deposits.

Historical drilling returned encouraging results such as 19.8 metres at 3.1 grams of gold per tonne (g/t) and 10.7 metres at 3.4g/t gold.

This drilling will be the first work undertaken in the area in the last 20 years and Anova is targeting a repeat of the high-grade mineralisation identified at Beadles Creek.

The third target lies between the Crusher and Briens Fault zones with mapping in 2005 identifying gold mineralisation-related alteration.

It has a similar geological setting to the Crusher Zone which has returned results of 12.19 metres at 17.87g/t gold and 10.67 metres at 11.93g/t gold.

Notably, this target has not been previously tested by drilling.

The fourth target lies roughly 400 metres east from the Beadles Creek deposit.

Shares in Anova were up 4.35 per cent on the market and were trading at 2.4 cents at 2:08 pm AEDT.
