Anova Metals (AWV) has received “outstanding” assay results from the first two holes at the Big Springs Gold Project in Nevada.

This recent drill program was the first to be undertaken at Big Springs since 2017 and it aimed to deliver infill and extensional drilling of the existing mineral resource as well as test new exploration targets.

Results include 5.49 metres at 15.23g/t gold from 106.07 metres, including 1.52 metres at 31.5g/t gold, and 4.54 metres at 3.98g/t gold from 91.75 metres, including 1.39 metres at 7.24g/t gold.

Additionally, intense silification and decarbonation was observed as well as pyrite and arsenopyrite.

“As the first exploration drilling program since 2007 to test these particular targets, the outstanding results returned have not only further improved confidence in Anova’s geological model, but also affirmed the potential for substantial resource growth with further drilling,” Managing Director Dr Mingyan Wang said.

“We look forward to the ongoing receipt and reporting of assay results from the drilling conducted in late 2020, and the incorporation of these results into our current planning for a large-scale, intensive exploration program at Big Springs through 2021,” he added.

Follow-up drilling will form part of the 2021 program with work to target further resource growth.

Anova is also in the process of planning extensive drilling and broad exploration activities, with work to include soil sampling, geophysical surveys and field mapping.

Results for the remaining eight diamond holes are expected in the upcoming weeks.

Anova has ended the day in the grey with shares trading at 2.9 cents in a $41.55 million market cap.
