Ardea Resources (ARL) is gearing up to commence follow-up drilling on interpreted nickel sulphide mineralisation at its Kalpini Project in Western Australia.

The company is currently undertaking an exploration program at the Emu Lake prospect within the wider project, which is 70 kilometres northeast of the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder.

In this next stage of exploration, Ardea is targeting the middle of an 80-metre strike length conductive body which extends to within 150 metres of surface and plunges steeply to the northeast.

The mineralisation was identified in a previous drill hole by Ardea, which intersected high-grade nickel sulphide mineralisation hosted within an ultramafic unit on an intact felsic footwall contact.

The first drill hole is planned to intersect this zone at a depth of approximately
180 metres below the surface, or 210 metres down-hole.

Ardea Resources Managing Director Andrew Penkethman said the site was prepared for drilling, which is expected to commence next week.

“If successful, Ardea will have confirmed a nickel sulphide discovery, at our Emu Lake Prospect, located only 70 kilometres northeast of the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder,” he said.

Ardea Resources shares closed today’s session in the grey at 50 cents.
