Arrow Minerals (AMD) is set to begin reverse circulation (RC) drilling at its Strickland Project in April.

The 1150 square kilometre Strickland Project lies 100 kilometres west of Menzies and 180 kilometres north of Southern Cross in the Eastern Goldfields of WA.

The project has been historically explored for gold and last year Arrow’s geologists re-analysed all historical data and identified signatures typical of volcanic massive sulphide (VMS) copper-gold mineralisation.

Airborne electromagnetic surveys were then carried out over five anomalous areas which exhibit geophysical, geochemical and geological mineralisation consistent with VMS copper and gold-bearing sulphides.

Previous work also focused on iron ore exploration, and this upcoming drilling will be the first-ever drilling undertaken for base metals in this area.

All relevant government and traditional owner approvals have been received and arrangements have been finalised for a drill rig.

Once RC drilling wraps up, borehole electromagnetic surveys will be undertaken to locate conductive sulphide mineralisation.

“We have five exciting drill targets at Strickland. The strong discrete geophysical anomalies along with the coincident high-grade copper, gold, silver and pathfinder elements in the right geological setting have generated high quality targets,” Managing Director Howard Golden said.

“We have planned a high-impact drilling program, followed by borehole electromagnetic surveys, that will efficiently and effectively test the copper-gold targets within the boreholes and in the surrounding rocks,” he added.

Arrow has ended the day in the grey with shares trading at 0.9 cents in an $11.99 million market cap.
