Athena Resources (AHN) has begun gravity surveys at the Byro Nickel Copper Platinum Group Element (PGE) Project in Western Australia.

The 900 square kilometre Byro Project lies along the northwestern margin of the Yilgarn Craton and consists of five exploration licences.

This survey is the next step in Athen’s base metals exploration program following the completion of moving-loop electromagnetic surveys.

Work will be undertaken by Atlas Geophysics, who are currently onsite, across the Milly Milly and Moonborough intrusions.

The Milly Milly intrusion was first surveyed by Athena in 2014 with work leading to the discovery of a large discrete gravity anomaly.

The upcoming survey at Milly Milly will infill a total of 232 stations over three target areas.

The Moonborough intrusion was initially surveyed by Athena in 2009 and defined a significant discrete gravity anomaly.

Upcoming work at Moonborough will infill 232 stations over a gravity anomaly.

The aim of these surveys is to acquire infill data to support the understanding of the shape and depth of the intrusions.

Upon completion of the surveys, the data will be revised by Southern Geoscience Consultants to aid in target generation.

Shares in Athena have been trading steady at 1.4 cents since July 20. The company has a $10.74 million market cap.
