  • Auroch Minerals’ (AOU) recent diamond drilling program has confirmed thick, high-grade nickel, copper, and platinum group element (PGE) sulphide mineralisation at its Horn prospect in WA
  • Pleasingly, all assays received so far have confirmed the prospect is not only rich in nickel sulphides, but in copper and PGEs as well
  • Overall, drilling confirmed high-grade mineralisation extends for 500 metres of strike at relatively shallow depths
  • Now, downhole electromagnetic (DHEM) surveys are underway to test the potential to extend massive nickel sulphide mineralisation in these holes
  • Additionally, a 6000-metre aircore drilling program has begun at the Saints and Leinster projects
  • Auroch is trading 6.25 per cent higher at 17 cents

Auroch Minerals (AOU) has received the first assay results from a maiden diamond drilling program conducted at the Horn prospect in Western Australia.

Pleasingly, assays from the first drill hole confirmed thick, high-grade nickel-copper-platinum group element (PGE) sulphide mineralisation.

Results include: 4.09 metres at 2.4 per cent nickel, 0.61 per cent copper, 0.55g/t palladium and 0.22g/t platinum from 119.91 metres of massive sulphides within a larger interval of 5.09 metres at 2.06 per cent nickel, 0.6 per cent copper, 0.49g/t palladium and 0.25g/t platinum.

Further, the second hole intersected 7.2 metres of nickel and copper-bearing massive sulphides from a 143-metre depth. Additionally, the third hole intersected 1.9 metres of nickel-copper sulphide mineralisation from 134.55 metres.

“The first assays have confirmed our observations that mineralisation at the Horn comprises thick lenses of high-grade massive nickel sulphides which are also rich in copper and PGE’s,” Managing Director Aidan Platel said.

Holes five and six both returned disseminated and stringer nickel sulphide mineralisation.

Downhole electromagnetic (DHEM) surveys are now underway to test the holes as well as the potential to extend massive nickel sulphide mineralisation.

Overall, the six-hole program confirmed high-grade mineralisation over 500 metres of strike at relatively shallow depths.

To continue its search for high-grade nickel sulphides, Auroch is conducting a 6000-metre aircore drilling program at the Saints and Leinster projects.

The company assures it remains in a strong cash position with around $5.4 million in the bank to assist with exploration activities.

Auroch is trading 6.25 per cent higher at 17 cents at 10:59 am AEDT.
