  • AusQuest (AQD) begins reverse circulation (RC) drilling at the Morrisey Nickel-Copper-Platinum Group Element (PGE) Project in Western Australia
  • A total of 1000 metres of RC drilling will be undertaken to test electromagnetic (EM) targets associated with inferred mafic/ultramafic intrusions
  • Modelling of the EM data outlined conductors with moderate to strong conductance (600 to 6000 siemens) at depths ranging from 50 to 100 metres

AusQuest (AQD) has begun reverse circulation (RC) drilling at the Morrisey Nickel-Copper-Platinum Group Element (PGE) Project in Western Australia.

A total of 1000 metres of RC drilling will be undertaken to test electromagnetic (EM) targets associated with inferred mafic/ultramafic intrusions.

Modelling of the EM data outlined conductors with moderate to strong conductance (600 to 6000 siemens) at depths ranging from 50 to 100 metres.

Further, soil geochemical surveys encountered anomalous nickel and copper in the vicinity of the EM targets – making them priority targets for nickel-copper and PGE mineralisation.

Drilling should take one to two weeks to complete with results expected six to eight weeks after that.

“The conductive targets associated with iron-rich mafic/ultramafic rocks and scattered nickel and copper anomalism in soils represent priority targets for the company,” Managing Director Graeme Drew said.

“We look forward to reporting results of this drilling program as they become available.”

Shares in AusQuest were steady and were trading at 1.8 cents at market close.
