  • Azure Minerals (AZS) has discovered new zones of nickel-copper sulphide mineralisation to the east of the VC-23 prospect at the Andover Project in WA
  • So far, seven holes have been completed at this target, as part of an ongoing drilling program to define a mineral resource at a previously drilled target
  • Of the four holes that intersected mineralisation, one intersected 4.6 metres of continuous massive and semi-massive nickel-copper sulphides
  • The other three showed sulphide mineralisation continues over more than 150 metres of strike and remains open along strike and down-dip
  • Azure is preparing to drill an eighth hole at VC-23 and will also undertake survey work over the next two to three weeks

Azure Minerals (AZS) has discovered new zones of nickel-copper sulphide mineralisation to the east of the VC-23 prospect at the Andover Project in WA.

The company is undertaking an ongoing drilling program at its 60 per cent-owned project with the remaining 40 per cent owned by Creasy Group.

This drilling recommenced in mid-January and is aimed at defining a mineral resource at the VC-07 conductor which is believed to represent a continuous body of bedrock sulphide mineralisation.

After the discovery of VC-07, the VC-23 conductor was identified, which has yielded pleasing historical results, eight other surface conductor anomalies have also been identified at Andover and will be drill tested.

Pleasingly, four new holes drilled at VC-23 have intersected shallow nickel-copper sulphide mineralisation associated with electromagnetic (EM) conductors.

One of these four holes, ANDD0012, intersected massive and semi-massive nickel-copper sulphides over 4.6 metres within a 19.4-metre-wide mineralised envelope. Additionally, the other three holes showed sulphide mineralisation continues over more than 150 metres of strike. Mineralisation remains open both along strike and down dip.

So far, seven holes have been drilled at the VC-23 conductor and an eighth hole is ready to commence.

All drill holes completed at VC-07 and VC-23 will undergo downhole transient EM (DHTEM) geophysical surveys in the next two to three weeks. This will enable geological and geophysical modelling of the mineralisation and will also support follow-up drilling.

Company shares are up 3.03 per cent and are trading at 51 cents at 11:07 am AEDT.
