Battery Minerals (BAT) is set to resume aircore drilling at its Stavely-Stawell Project in Victoria next week.

The 721-square kilometre Stavely-Stawell Project hosts the historical Moystone gold mine which produced around 75,000 ounces of gold at 22 grams per tonne (g/t).

Drilling was ultimately delayed due to unseasonably high rainfall in the area.

A total of 15,000-metres of aircore drilling will be undertaken to test five highly promising prospects.

Drilling is expected to take roughly 75 days to complete with results expected in due course.

Battery Minerals is also in the process of finalising additional land access agreements for the 2021/2022 season.

Furthermore, an airborne gravity survey has been completed by contractors Xcalibre.

Data is currently being processed by Southern Geoscience with the results to be integrated into Battery Minerals’ target strategy.

Executive Chairman David Flanagan is excited to resume drilling after the delays.

“We are excited about getting back into the field and drilling targets which have never been properly tested. This is an outstanding project with huge potential and little or no modern exploration undertaken there,” Mr Flanagan said.

“We expect this potential to be further highlighted by the recently completed regional gravity survey, which will provide important geological information that helps to rank drilling targets through to the end of 2021 and well into 2022.”

Shares in Battery Minerals were up 6.25 per cent on the market and are trading at 1.7 cents at 11:26 am AEST.
