Beam Communications (BCC) has received orders for 12,000 extra ZOLEO devices manufactured under its joint venture entity.

The additional order from ZOLEO Inc. comes less than a month after its last order.

Headquartered in Toronto, ZOLEO is Beam and Roadpost’s 50:50 joint venture, focused on developing lower-cost, consumer-oriented global messaging solutions.

ZOLEO is a safety device which gives the user reliable and constant connection, designed for extreme adventuring, remote hideaways, unfamiliar countries, or cruises. The ZOLEO device connects with phones and tablets to provide global messaging that can work both in and out of mobile coverage zones, enabling users to message over satellite, cellular or WiFi.

The first 9000 units are scheduled to be delivered and invoiced during the fourth quarter of FY2022, while the balance will be shipped and invoiced at the start of FY2023.

ZOLEO said it’s continuing to see strong interest from its retail partners and distributers for the global messaging device.

Furthermore, it believes that as the travel industry continues to reopen around the world, demand will increase for the pocket-sized communicator.

The total number of ZOLEO devices ordered from Beam since it was launched in early 2020 now stands at 115,225.

Beam Communications was up 3.08 per cent, trading at 33.5 cents at 3:00 pm AEDT.
