Brightstar Resources (BTR) has completed a reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at the Cork Tree Well Project in Western Australia.

The company began drilling at the project in mid-September to improve its confidence in the 237,000-ounce resource and confirm historical drilling.

Brightstar has also received new results with grades peaking at two metres at 16.84 grams of gold per tonne (g/t) from 96 metres.

Other results include two metres at 6.23 g/t gold from 137 metres, 12 metres at 4.25 g/t gold from 131 metres, and 16 metres at 3.26 g/t gold from 112 metres.

The results received to date continue to provide confidence that the resource is “robust” and will convert to higher-confidence categories, according to Brightstar.

Managing Director William Hobba said he was pleased with the results received so far.

“These results continue to correlate very well with Brightstar’s geological model and indeed exceed our expectations for grade profile within the Cork Tree Well deposit,” Mr Hobba said.

“This latest batch of assays for an additional 21 holes means we now have received 47 holes in total from the program of 89 holes completed at Cork Tree Well.”

The company said as there were still areas at Cork Tree Well that were not drilled in this program, further drilling was likely to be undertaken to continue growing the resource.

The locations are yet to be confirmed but will be determined by examining the geological model of the assays received to date.

Shares in Brightstar were trading grey on the market at 4.8 cents at 10:59 am AEDT.
