Buddy Technologies has released the LIFX Chroma Connector, a software integration with Razer, the world’s leading lifestyle brand for gamers.

The application allows users to connect the LIFX range of smart lighting products to Razer Chroma devices.

The LIFX Chroma Connector application gives gamers a “beyond the screen” experience, with the smart lighting technology responding to events in the game, and what appears on the screen.

Lighting effects include gentle light pulses, spectrum cycling, reactive light and a music visualiser.

Razer is one of the most recognisable brands in the gaming and e-sports community and has a market cap of $2.52 billion (HKD 13.5 billion). Its software platform includes Razer Synapse, Razer Chroma and Razer Cortex.

The application will be available exclusively on Razer Synapse 3, part of Razer’s software platform with over 70 million users worldwide.

“We are thrilled to have LIFX join the Razer Chroma Connected devices program. LIFX has been one of the most requested integration partners from the Razer community”, Razor Senior Product Manager Kushal Tandon said.

“Gamers can now integrate their smart desktop with the smart home with the help of LIFX RGB lights,” Kushal added.

Buddy Technologies CEO David McLauchlan says meeting the needs of the gaming community represents a huge opportunity for LIFX.

“I’m proud of both the LIFX and Razer teams who responded to the outpouring of demand from the Razer community for LIFX integration with the family of Razer Chroma Connected devices,” David said.

The new application requires no additional controller hardware.

LIFX Chroma will be released on the Raza Chroma Workshop on Friday, November 15.

Buddy Technologies is up 5.26 per cent on the market this morning and is trading at 2 cents apiece at 12:18 pm AEDT.
