Bulletin Resources (BNR) says recent mapping and rock-chip sampling at its Ravensthorpe lithium project in Western Australia has identified two new areas of spodumene mineralisation along the project’s Eastern Pegmatite Trend.

The company said on-ground mapping encountered spodumene-bearing pegmatite outcrop 700 metres south-west of the previously reported spodumene in lag found at the Big pegmatite.

Spodumene was also found in pegmatite lag 800m to the north of the Big pegmatite spodumene discovery.

Samples from the field work program were at a laboratory and the company was awaiting assay results.

Bulletin said the new areas complement the known spodumene occurrences at the Big, Deep Purple and Creek pegmatites, further supporting and increasing the lithium prospectivity of the Eastern Pegmatite Trend.

“Discovering new spodumene-bearing pegmatite areas some distance from the spodumene at Deep Purple, Creek and Big further underpins and reinforces the exciting lithium prospectivity of the Eastern Pegmatite Trend and the regional area,” CEO Mark Csar said.

“Together with the Western Pegmatite Trend and our newly acquired tenements, we feel we are building a substantial lithium play in an incredibly prospective area with an operating lithium processing plant on our doorstep.”

Bulletin said the mapping and sampling program would continue.

BNR shares were up 10.3 per cent, trading at 16 cents per share at 10:37 am AEDT.
