Castle Minerals (CDT) has wrapped up reverse circulation drilling at its flagship Kambale graphite project in Ghana.
The company completed the 52-hole program to expand the footprint of the deposit and to better understand areas outside of the known Kambale inferred resource.
During the campaign, CDT added six drill holes to its program in response to “excellent looking graphitic schist” encountered in new areas and along-trend from previously drilled areas.
Managing Director Stephen Stone said the RC drilling program went “extremely smoothly” and he remained confident about the demand for graphite.
“Everything we read about the graphite market forecasts a major supply deficit if the expected growth in electric vehicle manufacture is realised and the world continues its decarbonisation quest,” he said.
Assays results from the latest drilling are expected by early September and will help Castle design a diamond core drilling program scheduled for late October.
Castle’s field team has also been tasked with a broad reconnaissance of the Kambale region to evaluate additional graphite occurrences.
Once all assay results are in hand, Sahara Mining Services will undertake a quality assurance and quality control review and provide a JORC exploration target range estimate.
