Celsius Resources’ (CLA) subsidiary, Makilala Mining, has reported copper mineralisation in assays from the drilling program at its MCB copper-gold project in the Philippines.
A number of high grade intercepts were confirmed and expanded from the results. This was a key factor in the early mining plan at the project and was defined in the recently completed scoping study.
One hole had a total intersection of 528.7 metres at 0.55 per cent copper and 0.19 grams per tonne (g/t) of gold from 19.5 metres downhole.
The company believes high-grade zones occur over horizontal trends, which extend away from multiple mineralised faults and breccia bodies.
Drilling at the project is ongoing and the company will now adapt the upcoming drill holes to focus on shallow high-grade copper mineralisation.
Shares were trading five per cent higher today at 2.1 cents each at 12:37 pm AEST.
