Centaurus Metals (CTM) has intersected outstanding results from ongoing in-fill and step-out drilling at the Jaguar Nickel Sulphide Project in Brazil.

Drilling was completed over the Jaguar Central, Jaguar North, and Onça Rosa deposits with work continuing to show the growth potential of the current JORC 2012 mineral resource estimate (MRE) of 48 million tonnes at 1.08 per cent nickel for 517,500 tonnes of contained nickel.

“Notwithstanding the significant scale of the project already, we have now moved into a really exciting growth phase as we continue an aggressive drilling program aimed at upgrading the inferred portions of the resource,” Managing Director Darren Gordon said.

“The results will form the basis of an updated mineral resource in Q1 2021, which will in turn underpin a scoping study that will provide us with a clear forward development pathway,” he added.

Jaguar Central

Step-out drilling at the Jaguar Central Deposit has intersected thick massive to semi-massive nickel sulphides and confirmed the down-dip extensions of previous high-grade intercepts.

Best results from step-out drilling include 11.3 metres at 1.96 per cent nickel, 0.12 per cent copper and 0.04 per cent cobalt from 188 metres including five metres 2.9 per cent nickel, 0.18 per cent copper and 0.06 per cent cobalt from 194.3 metres.

Infill drilling was then completed, also intersecting significant massive to semi-massive sulphides.

Best results include 30 metres at 0.93 per cent nickel, 0.06 per cent copper and 0.02 per cent cobalt from 19 metres, including 2.7 metres at 2.48 per cent nickel, 0.15 per cent copper and 0.05 per cent cobalt from 46.3 metres.

One rig is continuing work at Jaguar Central with aims to extend the strike length of the high-grade mineralisation.

Jaguar North

Centaurus has completed a fixed-loop electromagnetic (FLEM) survey at Jaguar North which identified a new conductor plate.

Drilling on this plate successfully intersected semi-massive sulphide mineralisation which remains open both at depth and to the northwest.

Results from Jaguar North include six metres at 1.44 per cent nickel, 0.19 per cent copper and 0.05 per cent cobalt from 65.8 metres, and 5.6 metres at 1.32 per cent nickel, 0.07 per cent copper and 0.03 per cent cobalt from 123.6 metres.

Onça Rosa

The Onça Rosa Deposit is highlighted by a 600 metre long FLEM conductor plate coincident with a magnetic anomaly, and high nickel to chromium geochemical ratios.

This deposit is continuing to grow with a best result of 6.3 metres at 3.18 per cent nickel, 0.21 per cent copper and 0.09 per cent cobalt from 311 metres being returned.

Centaurus will continue with step-out drilling over the coming months.

Company shares are up a slight 1.56 per cent, trading for 65 cents each at 1:34 pm AEDT.
