Critical Resources (CRR) has completed an inaugural 5000-metre drilling program at its Mavis Lake lithium project in Ontario, Canada.

Drilling began in mid-April to follow up on a 2018 drilling program that encountered a 26.3-metre intersection grading 1.7 per cent lithium oxide from 130.5 metres.

The aim of this recent drilling was to build on recent and historical results at Mavis Lake to outline a mineral resource for the project.

Of the 37 holes drilled, 35 intersected spodumene-bearing pegmatites within the Pegmatite 6 zone.

Hole 36 intersected 9.65 metres at around 23 per cent fine to large spodumene laths from 131.6 to 141.25 metres, while hole 37 intersected around 16 per cent fine to large spodumene laths from 152.25 to 167 metres.

Critical said it had received approvals to double its drilling program, bringing the total amount to 10,000 metres

Managing Director Alex Biggs said having 35 out of 37 holes intersect spodumene-bearing mineralisation was a “fantastic result” for the company.

“Importantly the company has now received the necessary approvals to extend drilling by an additional 5000 metres,” Mr Biggs said.

“The company remains focussed on its goal of defining a JORC resource at Mavis Lake and looks forward to providing an update with regard to Phase 2 drilling at the project, including assay results, as soon as possible.”

Shares in Critical were down 2.27 per cent and trading at 4.3 cents at 11:24 am AEST.
