Global agricultural technology company CropLogic Limited has provided an update on its industrial hemp trial farm in Oregon USA.

The trial farm project is owned by CropLogic’s wholly owned subsidiary LogicalCropping and is designed to apply CropLogic’s technology and agronomy expertise to improve production.

For this season of growing CropLogic has settled on three different seed varieties. They are known for its resilience, Cannabidiol (CBD) compliance and have a proven record of growing well in Oregon.

“Central Oregon’s climate, soil types and clean environment presents an ideal growing environment to produce premium high-quality CBD producing hemp biomass,” LogicalCropping hemp specialist Jason Peterson said.

T2 is obtained from a well-known seed company in Oregon and is known for its high terpene production coupled with its highly consistent CBD yields. It has huge structural integrity which can withstand all the elements.

The Midwest Strain features large dense flowering, a robust plant structure and mould resistance. It consists of terpenes yielding a strong sweet scent which is great for botanical extracts.

Berry Blossom is noted for it extremely floral smothered in exotic overtones of candied raspberries and consistent yields of 13 per cent CBD.

CropLogic is also known for its long history with effectively using drone technology to improve aerial imagery to growers and for the early detection of plant stress. It has also enhanced its drone capabilities with the appointment of specialist staff with unique skills.

“The flexibility and deployment ease of drone technology makes it ideal for servicing fields of high-value crops such as CBD producing industrial hemp,” CropLogic Manager Scott Barclay said.

Following the announcement of the trial farm project, CropLogic has been approached by growers around its growing capabilities and drone technologies and it expects to have early take-up of its technologies providing a gateway for its agronomy and agtech business in the emerging hemp market in Oregon.
