E2 Metals (E2M) has launched a drilling program at the El Rosillo project in the Rio Negro province of Argentina.

The program will include 2500 metres of diamond drilling, focussed on testing seven gold mineralised structures across five prospect areas, for a total of 1400 metres strike.

The company’s drilling contractor arrived on site on Monday, with the drilling already underway.

The program’s priority targets were defined from a recent trench program, which returned results including 1.9 metres at 184 grams per tonne (g/t) gold and 55 g/t silver.

“We are excited for this first drill program at El Rosillo which will test surface veins that have returned spectacular grades and visible gold in trenches,” E2 Managing Director Todd Williams said.

“We believe that El Rosillo, which includes the broader district controlled 100 per cent by E2 Metals, has all the hallmarks of a large intrusion related gold system, with the potential for a major discovery heightened by the proximity to the Gastre Fault that hosts the world-class Navidad silver deposit.”

The program is expected to take six weeks to complete, after which time the samples will be shipped off for analysis.

Gold assay results are then anticipated within four weeks from dispatch.

E2 Metals was trading steady at 17 cents at 1:32 pm AEST.
