Element25’s (E25) Butcherbird Project is on track to reach substantial mechanical completion by the end of the month.

The manganese asset is located in the Southern Pilbara Region of WA and is 100 per cent owned by the materials stock.

Pleasignly, E25 said the delivery of the first stage of the multi-stage project remains in line with the original first quarter target.

The company’s current work plan for Butcherbird will see dry commission begin in the first half of March, then wet processing and first ore processing begin in the latter half of the month.

Once processing has begun and the first stage of commissioning is complete, the project will then expand to produce high purity manganese sulphate monohydrate.

Manganese is a key ingredient in electric vehicle (EV) batteries, a market predicted to boom as the globe moves away from fossil fuel powered cars.

Element25 believes Butcherbird will be ideally placed to feed demand and supply the world’s first zero carbon manganese.

“To deliver a mining project in such a short timeframe whilst maintaining a high level of safety and cost control is a fantastic achievement by the team,” Managing Director Justin Brown said.

“This is an important first step in the development of the Project which can then be expanded into the battery metals markets,” he added.

At the close of marker on Wednesday, shares in Element 25 were trading steady at $1.26.
