Emmerson Resources (ERM) has been awarded co-funding grants through the Geophysics and Drilling Collaborations (GDC) program administered by the Northern Territory (NT) Geological Survey (NTGS).

Part of the Northern Territory government’s $9.5 million “Resourcing the Territory Initiative”, the GDC is designed to co-fund projects that address geoscientific knowledge gaps, advance exploration activity and support the discovery and development of resources in the NT.

Emmerson took part in Round 15 of the program and said the funding would help advance exploration and survey work at its Golden Forty South and Golden Forty East areas.

“The awarding of three out of three co-funding grants is testament to Emmerson’s science-based approach to exploration, plus recognition that further discoveries in the Tennant Creek Mineral Field (TCMF) will benefit many other explorers and stakeholders — in what is an emerging exploration hotspot,” Managing Director Rob Bills said.

Emmerson said it planned to get its programs underway “shortly”, with the work to advance its understanding of its high-grade gold-copper-cobalt and iron-oxide deposits.

The company’s Golden Forty South (G40S) project is designed to focus on enhancing its target detection and data processing methodologies. The company aims to collaborate with research and industry practitioners to refine its high-resolution drone aeromagnetics, enabling a more precise definition of the source of the G40S magnetic anomaly.

Shares in Emmerson last traded at 9.4 cents on June 9.
