Envirosuite (EVS) is partnering with Western Australia’s Water Corporation to develop EVS’s safety software solution for the water industry, SeweX.

The parties agreed to terms for a proof of concept of SeweX. Envirosuite describes the solution as a mathematical modelling tool used to detail and predict the physical, chemical and biological processes in sewers.

Water Corporation is Western Australia’s state-owned principal supplier of water, wastewater, drainage and bulk irrigation services across its 113 wastewater treatment plants across the state.

According to Envirosuite, the proof of concept is set to monitor the sewer network and provide insights that could reduce future costs of odour and corrosion management, improve efficient asset allocation related to safety and extend network life.

Envirosuite Chief Executive Officer Jason Cooper said the company was thrilled to be partnering with Water Corp.

“Projects such as this one advance the strategic need for digital solutions to
help lessen the magnitude of climate change,” he said.

“We believe that every major town in the world is a potential customer for SeweX and this is a step towards that vision.”

Envirosuite shares closed up 4.69 per cent to 16.8 cents.
