Estrella Resources (ESR) has announced a 17-metre intersection of disseminated to semi-massive nickel-copper sulphides within its Carr Boyd project in Western Australia.

The intersection was in diamond hole CBDD076 which was drilled 180 metres south of the recent Broonhill discovery to test the Broonhill basal contact.

According to the company, the drill hole confirms the significance of the Broonhill discovery in that the mineralisation is increasing in width and sulphide content. The intersection also shows the mineralisation exhibits a southerly plunge direction consistent with that seen at the T5 prospect 1.5 kilometres to the south.

Broonhill remains open along strike and down dip and is reportedly a ‘completely separate’ nickel-copper sulphide deposit to the T5 mineralisation

“Persistence, perseverance, and patience has paid off in our drilling of the extensive contact north of T5 with the discovery of nickel and copper sulphides at depth at the emerging Broonhill deposit,” Managing Director Chris Daws said.

“We still have an enormous area of highly prospective basal contact to explore at Carr Boyd, though with the new UDR1200 diamond drill rig recently commissioned at Carr Boyd we are making fantastic progress.”

Estrella Resources currently has two diamond drill rigs onsite and downhole electromagnetic (DHEM) surveys are also being conducted on the drill holes.

While seismic interpretation and DHEM surveying is being undertaken at Broonhill over the next few weeks, the company will conduct diamond drilling at the Gossan Hill prospect.

The Gossan Hill Prospect has been identified as an area with similarities to the T5-Broonhill basal contact and is believed to be a southern extension of the contact.

ESR shares were up 7.50 per cent to trade at 2.2 cents as of 11:31 am AEST.
