First Look at the 2023 Genesis G90

The most elegant interpretation of the brand’s design philosophy of Athletic Elegance yet.

Genesis

Korean luxury car manufacturer, Genesis has revealed a newly redesigned model of its G90 flagship, that is set to give its competitor Mercedes S-Class a run for its money. While there are ‘no current plans’ for the G90 to reach Australian shores, just yet – it seems, we may be waiting a while longer to see the full-size luxury sedan on our roads.

It’s the new facelift on the previous G90 2020 that drives first impressions. The sleeker more stylish look still retains the same glaring twin-line front Matrix LEDs, albeit a little more angular, which is now a defining feature of its design. Positioned beside a new ‘Crest Grille’ and wrap around the longer, more stately body that features new flush door handles, chrome trim and dual exhaust tips.

Two sharp body lines flow down the side to the rear where you’ll find more of Genesis’ signature twin-stripe lights. The lights sweep across the boot lid beside tapering main lights that fall on either side of a thin ‘Genesis’ logo.

Other stand-out features on the G90 Genesis, hailing from the luxury vehicle division of Hyundai Motor Group, include 20-inch alloy wheels, a clamshell bonnet, and a new engraved front badge design that’s thinner than its predecessor.

While exact specifications and under-the-hood details are yet to be officially revealed, it’s unsure whether the 5.0-litre V-8 engine will return – most expect to see a twin-turbo 3.5-litre V-6 engine taking its place instead. Continuing the increase in electric cars, we may even see an Electrified G90.
