A Look at the New Vacheron Constantin Métiers d’Art Watch Collection

Drawing inspiration from art, history and culture, the Vacheron Constantin Métiers d’Art collection illustrates the superior level of creativity and craftsmanship that can go into a timepiece.

Designed in close collaboration with the Louvre, the collection called ‘Tribute To Great Civilisations’ references the golden age of Ancient Egypt, the Persian Empire of Darius the Great, the Hellenistic period of Ancient Greece and the Roman Empire with the advent of Augustus.

Adorned with detailed ornamentation and embellishments, the timepieces were created by the Maison’s skilled craft makers.

Thanks to the richness and originality of the themes and the exceptional quality of execution, these watches resulting from the collaboration between Vacheron Constantin and the Louvre all feature narrative content magnificently conveying the splendour of fine craftsmanship.

Paying homage to the French museum’s collection of antiquities, the four key timepieces feature imagery of the four historic time periods and are named the Grand Sphinx de Tanis, Lion de Darius, Victoire de Samothrace, and Buste d’Auguste.

Hand engraved and delicately embellished, the four 42mm watches are limited to a series of just five with pricing available upon request.

According to Barrons, Vacheron Constantin’s director of style and heritage described the collection as “very modern executions incorporating elements from the past”.

From gold applique to stone micro-mosaics, the four timepieces exemplify the Swiss luxury watchmaker’s eye for detail.

The collection is available exclusively through Vacheron Constantin boutiques.
