A Look Inside Ash Barty’s Brookwater Mansion

Australian tennis icon Ash Barty announced her shock retirement from tennis on Wednesday and is now in the process of building her future retirement home in Queensland.

The A$882,000 property is positioned in the Brookwater community in Ipswich’s Greater Springfield Development, the suburb where Barty spent her childhood.

“You can hear the birds in the morning. You can see the sunrise. It’s just all those little things that make a home a home,” Barty said in a video released by Brookwater residential.

The 25-year-old explained the process of designing her home has been incredibly involved, describing the prospect of beginning the design as, “confronting”, but that it had all been worth it.

“At the end when you look back at all the decisions you’ve made, there wasn’t one regret,” she said.

“That’s the best part about it, we’ve done it. This is it”

Spurred by the emotional and physical feats of her incredible career, Barty told a packed media conference on Wednesday afternoon, that she had given all she could to the game of tennis.

Barty’s career has left her with numerous accolades, ranking her number one female tennis player in the world. Her retirement announcement prompted a rush of tributes from fans and tennis stars around the globe.

She said she is now looking to life beyond professional sport, which includes giving back to the community and spending more time with her family.

Much of this time will likely be spent in her Brookwater residence, which she is designing herself alongside her fiancè Garry Kissick.

According to an artist’s render of the home, it will be abundant with light-drenched, open plan rooms and sleek interiors.

The property is backed by the lush green land of the Brookwater estate, which is also home to the award-winning Brookwater golf course, designed by the eminent Greg Norman.

Brookwater is an up and coming suburb, with huge developments in recent years. The current median house price sits at A$877,500, according to smart property investment.

With no concrete plans for a return to professional sport, Barty is instead now striving to perfect her forever home.
