A Staple in Luxury Watches: The Omega Seamaster

In 1948, a staple in luxury watches was born; the oldest model in the Omega present collection, the Seamaster. Many will know it as the ‘James Bond’ watch thanks to its inclusion in the franchise since 1995. Since then the Omega Seamaster has remained a favourite for watch enthusiasts. With a rich history and sleek design, the collection is the perfect companion for any adventure. A remarkable line of models is available including the Omega Seamaster 300M, the Seamaster Aqua Terra, and the Seamaster Planet Ocean models. We’ll give some insight into each of these Omega Seamaster watches so you can pick your perfect timepiece.

Omega Seamaster Diver 300M

The Omega Seamaster Diver 300M watch, launched in 1993, became widely recognised in 1995 as Pierce Brosnan’s timepiece in James Bond. Also known as the Omega Seamaster Professional, Omega modernised the movement in 2006, ensuring higher performance and precision. Its symbolic wave dial and rotating diving bezel make the Seamaster Professional a style staple. In the modern-day collection, the dials are a polished ceramic with laser-engraved waves presented on a metal bracelet. The Omega Seamaster is a watch design that has stood the test of time. These timepieces are perfect if you want a luxury watch that’s comfortable with any occasion.

Omega Aqua Terra

Introduced in 2002, the Aqua Terra design is inspired by some of the earliest Omega Seamaster models. Created as a more casual watch able to withstand contact with water, the Omega Aqua Terra can also hold its own in a more formal dress. A smooth case and a smarter feel embolden the stand out feature; a dial pattern inspired by the wooden decks common on luxury yachts. Inside the watch, Omega has spared nothing. Newer models include the latest in Omega movement precision having passed rigorous tests. The Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra > 15,000 gauss can reach a water depth of 150m and exceeds magnetic resistance levels achieved by previous watches. This one could be an investment; a future collectable in the making.

Omega Planet Ocean

Omega’s more modern Seamaster collection, the Omega Planet Ocean, is designed to go deeper. While Omega’s rich legacy of ocean exploration is on display, this style also pushes the boundaries of where watches can function. The modern, sleek new models showcase innovative design, featuring the Omega Co-Axial 2500 movement. Add to that the state-of-the-art materials and a helium-escape valve and you have a watch with a water resistance rating of 600M. This watch also continued the Omega Seamaster, James Bond partnership when Daniel Craig became 007 in Casino Royale.
