Alaïa’s Newest Swimwear Collection Revealed

Designed by Alaïa Creative Director, Pieter Mulier, the brand’s latest swimwear collection has been unveiled. Paying homage to the brand’s ancestry and founder, the late Azzedine Alaïa, the swimwear collection embodies the iconic shapely designs and 70’s fashion trends the Maison became known for. Bringing these curve-hugging features into a new era of fashion, Pieter Mulier’s swimsuit collection arrives just in time for the southern hemisphere’s summer, offering women a diverse range of flattering styles to choose from.

Alaïa’s Creative Director, Belgian fashion designer Pieter Mulier joined the fashion house earlier this year. Before starting with Alaïa, Mulier was known for his previous role as a Creative Director with Calvin Klein and his longstanding partnership with Raf Simons. Mulier’s first collection with Alaïa is set to be showcased during the Spring/Summer 2022 Fashion Week but until then we have his first swimsuit collection to admire.

The collection is made up of designs with recognisable detailing inspired by earlier collections, including open-knit, studding, leather and zips. Available in a bold palette of classic colours that include, white, scarlet, sky blue, dark green and aubergine, the collection’s stand out designs include a mid-length swimming skirt and long sleeve bolero cover-up jacket. With flattering cuts that cleverly emphasise a woman’s shape and natural curves, the designs achieve a difficult balance of both allure and modesty.
