Blue Amber: The Newest Tropical Resort in East Africa

The new five-star resort, Blue Amber is set to transform the East African island of Zanzibar into a luxury destination. Located on the Swahili Coast in the Tanzanian archipelago, Zanzibar is an island made up of white sandy beaches lined with palm trees, winding laneways, mosques, trading port history and a vibrant collision of African, Indian and European cultures. While the island is naturally beautiful and culturally rich, it has lacked the luxury tropical resorts required to elevate its appeal to the other luxurious Indian ocean islands like Seychelles, Mauritius, and the Maldives.

But Blue Amber is about to change that.

While the resort initially began its building works a few years ago, the project has been delayed due to the pandemic. Having lost most of their tourists to the pandemic, Zanzibar is now more than ever, in need of Blue Ambar’s impact on the tropical island

Set to open in phases, Blue Amber will take over a thousand acres of coastline to become not just a resort, but a leading leisure destination for East Africa. The resort won’t only consist of multiple five-star hotels such as The Ritz-Carlton, but will also consist of residential holiday houses, waterparks, gourmet restaurants, horse riding and east Africa’s first Signature Championship golf course.

Investors will be excited by the hundreds of oceanfront villas being built in the Blue Amber complex. With changes to Zanzibar’s tax regulations, foreign investors are now allowed to buy properties in the country for the first time. With luxury two-bedroom pool villas starting from just US$197,125 (A$274,00), you might be moving to paradise sooner than you think.

If you’re wondering when Blue Amber will be complete then we can give you the answers. The first stage, which includes the Shirazi Resort and Villas, a leisure activity centre and beach restaurant should be completed by 2023. While the rest of the project is expected to take a little longer, it should not take more than three years. Until then you can start dreaming and planning your getaway to this tropical East African paradise.
