Bond-Edition Land Rover Defender Celebrates Daniel Craig’s Last 007 Film

The last 15 years and 4 movies of the A$9.5 billion James Bond franchise are defined by Daniel Craig’s truly modern-day 007. Beloved by Bond fans, his fifth and final portrayal of the English spy in ‘No Time To Die’ marks the 25th instalment – and another adored British brand is leading the celebrations.

Land Rover recently unveiled a Defender V8 ‘Bond Edition’ SUV that takes inspiration from the stealthier models featuring in the film.

The Land Rover Defender V8 Bond Edition is an exclusive take on the most powerful production Defender ever made, inspired by vehicles on screen in ‘No Time To Die.’ It represents a meeting of two great British brands and is a unique celebration of Land Rover’s 38-year association with James Bond.

The extremely exclusive car will be available to just 300 buyers with reports that none are set for the Australian market. Each features laser etching detailing that says ‘one of 300’.

The key details differentiating the special edition from the ‘standard’ 2022 Land Rover Defender, are worthy of Daniel Craig’s special agent status. The brawny car features an exclusive gloss black paint finish, illuminated sill plates, custom puddle lights, 22-inch alloy wheels, blue brake callipers, and bespoke ‘007’ badging. The unique ‘Defender 007’ also includes ‘007’ puddle lamps and illuminated ‘007’ treadplates.

Under the hood, the Bond Edition is powered by the same 5.0-litre supercharged V8 petrol engine as the other 2022 Defender V8. The potent power is dispersed over all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission with Land Rover claiming 0-100km/h will be completed in 5.2 seconds with a top speed of 240km/h.

It feels like a fitting tribute to Daniel Craig’s thoroughly modern interpretation of Ian Fleming’s famous character. Alongside the 2022 Land Rover Defender, the movie will feature the Range Rover Sport SVRS, a Range Rover Classic and the Land Rover Series III.

The last outing for Daniel Craig as James Bond releases Australia-wide on 8 October 2021.
