Cocktails With A Twist: Gin Goes On A Health Kick

If you’re wondering what type of non-alcoholic drinks are on the market, gin lovers will be pleased to know that non-alcoholic gin is the latest beverage to undergo the alcohol free treatment.

While some alcoholic gin distilleries are trying their hand at creating non-alcoholic versions of the spirit, other non-alcoholic producers are dedicated to making non-alcoholic gins their staple drink.

If you’re a self-admitted gin enthusiast, and the thought of swapping out your favourite spirit for a non-alcoholic version is unthinkable, then these non-alcoholic gins may just change your mind.

Herbie Gin’s Herbie Virgin

Already leading the charge with its innovative range of alcoholic gins, this Danish distillery created its first non-alcoholic spirit in 2017.

A finalist in the World Beverage Innovation Awards in 2017, Herbie Gin’s careful distillation process allows for particular spices to be emphasised in the drink. Made of juniper, lavender, cardamom, orange peel, Herbie Virgin makes for sophisticated non-alcoholic drink.

Brunswick Aces’ Spades

Melbourne local Brunswick Aces has two delicious non-alcoholic gin alternatives on offer from its Sapiir range. Our favourite is Spades, a London Dry classic drink with the fresh notes of green cardamom, parsley, citrus, native lemon myrtle, and Tasmanian pepper berry.

Brunswick Aces suggests pairing the non-alcoholic with a good-quality tonic and a slice of lemon or get creative with fresh or dried grapefruit, rosemary, strawberries, or finger lime.

Seedlip’s Garden 108

Inspired by England’s enthusiasm for gin, this London based company have been making non-alcoholic versions of the drink since 2015. With its farming heritage, passion for nature and design the company is credited with creating the world’s first non-alcoholic spirit.

Out of all of the distilled botanicals, Garden 108 with it’s delicious herbed notes of peas, rosemary, thyme and spearmint, is the closest drink to a traditional gin. Ideal for spring and summer, we guarantee that you won’t notice the difference.

Caleño Light & Zesty

When Caleño Drinks founder, Ellie, found herself uninspired by the alcohol-free drinks on offer on a night out, she became passionate about bringing joy to non-alcoholic drinks.

Infusing the vibrant flavours of her home country of Colombia into non-alcoholic spirits, Caleño Drinks gin alternatives are a fun mix of spice and zest. We love Light and Zesty’s tropical blend of Inca berry, pineapple, papaya, coriander, juniper berry. Serve straight over ice or with a classic tonic and slice of lime.

Free Spirits’ The Spirit of Gin

Californian producer’s Free Spirits make some of the best non-alcoholic drinks around. Their Spirit of Gin is a smooth, floral alternative to a London Dry, made with notes of juniper, citrus, coriander and cardamom.

Containing only natural flavourings and functional ingredients, the drink is designed elevate your mood in the same way that an alcoholic spirit does, only without the hangover in the morning.

Need more alcohol-free alternatives? These are our favourite non-alcoholic champagnes and beers.
