Emma Pill’s Jewellery Line feels like the Lovechild of the Early 2000s Mixed with 1970s Charm

The Emma Pill’s jewellery line is where the colours of the early 2000s meet the glitter and party of the 1970s. The designer is 19-year-old Emma Pillemer, a young Sydney socialite and Instagram influencer, who decided to create the jewellery line when Covid-19 changed her international gap-year plans two years ago.

Having realised there was a gap in the market for edgier jewellery collections targeted at the Gen Z demographic, Emma decided to make her own line. Taking inspiration from her own personal style, the jewellery line is full of bright, youthful designs that are made for partying.

With rings, bracelets, necklaces, earrings and body jewellery forming the eye-catching collection, the pieces are designed to be layered, mixed and matched and worn together.

The piece’s distinctive neon enamel coatings are what make the jewellery line really stand out. You will find everything from splashy neon rings, chunky gold cuff bracelets and more delicate chains elevated by gorgeous coloured crystals. With a definite beach club and island theme, much of Emma’s inspiration comes from the many summers she has spent in Byron Bay.

While the jewellery takes on a costume approach to the pieces, it doesn’t lack in quality. An element that some of the fashion industry leaders noticed when the designs were showcased at this year’s Afterpay Australian Fashion Week. As the youngest designer appearing in this year’s show, it wasn’t a surprise that people took note.

Having recruited her graphic designer sister, Ashley, to create the fun, neon website that perfectly reflects the vivacious jewellery collection, the business is a family one. Something that appears to be important to the young designer. With a family history of breast cancer, Emma is donating 50 per cent of her net proceeds of every Pink OG Earring sale to the Breast Cancer Research Center.

The next step for Emma Pills is the upcoming US and Canadian launch. Having secured investment from Australian model and business owner, Natasha Oakley, there are plans to organise celebrity partnerships and expand the brand even further.
