Haute Couture: Fairytale Ball Gowns By Giambattista Valli

Inspired by French designers like Yves Saint Laurent and motivated by a passion for feminine designs – Giambattista Valli was born against the backdrop of the bustling fashion capital of the world, Paris. Founded by Italian-born Giambattista Valli in 2005, Valli’s self-titled designer fashion label specialises in dramatic ready-to-wear ball gowns, tweed jackets and feminine silhouettes.

Despite a global decline in ballgown occasions, Valli told Vogue Runway that even among a pandemic he advanced to sell ball gowns saying “haute couture can always be adapted to demand.”

When it comes to Valli’s designs, he is known for drama, excess and an incredible amount of fabric. According to Elle, this lime-coloured green ball gown is made from 350 metres of tulle; enough tulle to reach the top of the Eiffel Tower.

Couture is not about decoration. Couture is about volumes.

Giambattista Valli told Vogue Runway

If you’re not wanting to carry an immense amount of tulle in the name of donning a Giambattista Valli ball gown, fear not. Featuring stunning lace, a more reasonable amount of tulle and feminine silhouettes, you can get your hands on beautiful Giambattista Valli ready-to-wear gowns like these.
