Hilton’s Luxury Hotel Brand Waldorf Astoria Set for Australian Debut in Sydney

Hilton’s iconic hotel brand Waldorf Astoria Hotels and Resorts is set for its Australian debut with the signing of Waldorf Astoria Sydney in the city’s Circular Quay.

Arriving in early 2025, construction on the new 28-storey hotel is underway at One Circular Quay with the former site of the Gold Fields House providing sweeping views across Sydney’s famous harbour.

Marking the brand’s first foray into Australasia, the New South Wales capital will join six Waldorf Astoria properties in the Asia Pacific region as well as landmark destinations around the globe including New York and London.

Guests will be within walking distance of the city’s top spots including the Sydney Opera House, Harbour Bridge, Royal Botanic Gardens and Museum of Contemporary Art.

The 220-key hotel comprising 179 guest rooms and 41 suites will be created by Tokyo-based firm Kengo Kuma and Associates alongside Sydney’s Crone Architects.

True to all Waldorf Astoria properties, the hotel will feature sumptuous accommodation ‘blending contemporary living with cutting-edge design’.

It will also feature the Waldorf’s signature space, the Peacock Alley lobby lounge, and its iconic Waldorf Astoria clock which pays homage to the history of the brand.

The hotel will also celebrate Sydney’s exquisite culinary scene with two original restaurant concepts one being a rooftop bar with views of the harbour.

Waldorf Astoria Sydney will join the Hilton Honors guest-loyalty program for Hilton’s 18 distinct hotel brands where members who book directly can access a string of benefits.
