Paired with tonic and a slice of grapefruit, or soda with a touch of lime, or even mixed into a cocktail, gin is as versatile as it is delicious.

If your love affair with the spirit hasn’t begun just yet, you may want to see what all the hype is about before World Gin Day arrives this weekend on June 11.

The day is a celebration of all things gin, so round up your friends, grab a bottle of soda and your favourite brand because you don’t need the day to hit 5pm to start celebrating.

Below, we’ve rounded up 10 events across the globe that are taking part in this drinking holiday.

Gin Masterclass at The Flour Factory

Location: Perth, Australia

Kicking off the celebrations is the Flour Factory in Perth, WA, which boasts the city’s largest gin collection.

The one-hour masterclass includes tastings of four iconic gin brands paired with Fever-Tree tonics. Finish off your night with an all-inclusive grazing board, or try the food menu at The Flour Factory which ranges from pork belly to tuna tataki.

Gin Fest

Location: Stockholm, Sweden

Sweden is not messing around with their gin festivities, throwing a 10-hour festival held across two sittings in Stockholm. Participants will be treated to gin samplings from a wide range of distilleries and get to curate their perfect G&T.

Some of the brands present at the festival include Hammars Tonic, Mission Wines, Franklin Tonic and Wet City Spirits. Those getting their gin on and attending will also be treated to their own G&T glass to take home.

Junipalooza

Location: London, U.K

If 60 different distillers in one location amassing over three hundred gins sounds up your alley, you’ll want to head to Junipalooza in the gin-loving city of London. The abbreviation juni is taken from juniper, the berry that gin derives its flavour.

Now in its ninth year, Junipalooza is a well-established celebration of the spirit. Distillers and exhibitors fly across the world for this event to build experiences to represent their brand. Immersive experiences, master classes, a food court and music can all be expected.

Black Fox World Gin Day

Location: Saskatchewan, Canada

If you happen to find yourself in Saskatchewan on June 11, head on down to Black Fox, Canada’s leading farm distillery. Black Fox is celebrating World Gin Day with a seven hour festival, inclusive of cocktails on the patio, live music, a gin ingredients tour and a build your own G&T station.

Co-owners John Cote and Barb Stefanyshyn-Cote are fifth-generation farmers and one of few to combine their love of agriculture and distilling. Growing ingredients on-farm, acres of fresh fruit and flowers are distilled into their Black Fox gin. To taste their internationally acclaimed spirits and celebrate with them, no bookings are required, so head on down.

Envy Distilling’s Pop-Up

Location: Victoria, Australia

Envy Distilling is a small craft distillery run by partners Nathan and Vanessa (hence, the N and the V). Their pop-up tasting will celebrate World Gin Day and feature winemakers, food trucks, brewers and musicians in the Central Victorian town of Heathcote.

This pop-up cellar door festival is a celebration of rural food and drink and the best way to spend your World Gin day in the region.

The Gin to My Tonic

Location: Faringdon, Oxfordshire, U.K

Held in Oxfordshire, this outdoor gin festival is a must for any gin enthusiast or spirits connoisseur. A ticket will guarantee you live music, access to exhibiting distillers, a take-home gin glass, gin sampling and an explorer guide.

This gin festival has something for everyone, bringing together more than 120 craft gins and spirits from all over the world. The festival is partnered with Fever-Tree to bring you your favourite tonic, ginger ale, soda or lemonade.

Manly Spirits

Location: Sydney, Australia

Brought to you by the gin experts at Many Spirits, this World Gin Day event will be serving up free mini G&T’s, food trucks and live music to celebrate World Gin Day.

Manly Spirits release hand distilled, bottled and labelled gin from Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Their gin is inspired by its coastal backyard and culture, reflected in sustainable marine botanical ingredients. Their Australian Dry Gin contains hints of pepper leaf, anise myrtle, finger lime and orange peel.

Liverpool Gin Distillery

Location: Liverpool, U.K

It’s their favourite day of the year for this gin distillery and bar in Liverpool. Sprawling across three floors, guests can view the micro-distillery up close, and enjoy a selection of dark spirits in the basement lounge, or the gin bar that occupies the entire ground floor.

For those wanting a personal touch, why not distil your own bottle of gin using your own botanicals, naming the gin yourself and waxing the lid. To celebrate World Gin Day, Liverpool Gin Distillery is taking 10 per cent off of their whole website, experiences and bottle sales.

Macedon Ranges Tasting Paddles

Location: Victoria, Australia

World Gin Day Broken Heart Degustation

Location: Queenstown, New Zealand

The Gin Garden is putting its best foot forward for World Gin Day with a ticketed event dedicated to the award-winning local spirit. Guests will enjoy a five-course degustation dinner that perfectly pairs with Broken Heart Gin, matching gins for each course. The evening will come with a detailed explanation from a head distiller on the process of making the gin range. The event also comes with a 10 per cent discount on takeaway bottles.
