IWC Unveils New Big Pilot Watch With Chronograph Function

Swiss luxury watchmakers IWC Schaffhausen has revealed the “Le Petit Prince” edition of its iconic Big Pilot watch. The new edition is the first Big Pilot to feature a chronograph function and is limited to just 500 pieces worldwide.

Released on November 25, the latest iteration of the Big Pilot comes in a 46mm stainless steel case and sports the signature midnight blue dial. The mechanical stopwatch feature, integrated into the conical crown, is controlled via a practical single push-button.

We have had the idea to present a Big Pilot’s Watch with a chronograph function for some time now. However, one can hardly imagine the unmistakable design with the large case and conical crown with two chronograph pushers on the side of the case. Therefore, we hit upon the surprising and at the same time logical idea to integrate a monopusher chronograph.

Complemented by rhodium-plated hands and a brown calfskin strap, the watch integrates practical features with timeless design and signature style. Designed to withstand drops in air pressure, the iconic aviators watch also comes with the practical addition of illuminating hands, indices, and applied numerals.

Underneath, the inner workings of the timepiece, and its 36 jewels, are showcased through a see-through sapphire-glass back.

The chronograph edition of the Big Pilot is priced at approximately A$25,800.
