Jacob & Co Unveils One of a Kind Bugatti Chiron Tourbillon Timepiece

Luxury jewellery label Jacob & Co has just unveiled its latest Bugatti Chiron Tourbillon watch, and it’s the most opulent yet.

The marriage between luxury brands Jacob & Co and Bugatti began in 2019, with the first Bugatti Chiron Tourbillon watch released in 2020. The watch made waves in the industry for honouring Bugatti’s famous Chiron hypercar by integrating a miniature, yet fully-operational, version of the W16 engine inside the timepiece.

What followed was the Bugatti Chiron Tourbillon Sapphire, which featured a sapphire crystal case and was limited to only seven pieces. Now, Jacob & Co has launched its most desirable watch to date, and with only one piece ever being produced, it will be entirely unique to the lucky owner.

The Bugatti Chiron Tourbillon Blue Sapphire is inspired by the flowing lines of the Chiron with a transparent blue sapphire case. This is no small feat in watchmaking as sapphire is extremely hard and therefore makes it an incredibly taxing process to craft to such finesse. The process is made even more challenging by the addition of colour, which can interfere with the transparency.

“At Jacob & Co, we are always developing luxury watches which no one else can imagine. With the Bugatti Chiron Tourbillon timepiece, we have done something no one has ever even attempted before, create the world’s first true engine on the wrist,” said Jacob & Co. CEO Benjamin Arabov.

This watch is not for the faint of heart as it boasts dimensions of 57.8mm x 44.4mm and makes a striking impact on the wrist with the unrestricted view of the miniature engine inside. 18k rose gold plus blue accents in the face and dial compliment the crystal blue sapphire of the case.

Many design elements of the watch reference the luxury sports car that inspired the timepiece including a power reserve display that looks like a fuel gauge, shock absorbers that have been modelled to look like dampers from a car.

It is, of course, the most expensive of the Bugatti Chiron Tourbillon watch collection and will set you back US$1.5 million.
