James Packer Puts A$283m Superyacht Up for Sale

One of Australia’s richest, James Packer, has recently put up his Italian superyacht for sale with a hefty price tag of A$283 million.

Packer bought the 108-metre superyacht back in 2019 for around A$200 million and named it ‘IJE’ after his three children, Indigo, Jackson and Emmanuelle. Just last week the luxury yacht was listed on Burgess Yachts.

The luxury listing site states that IJE was built as “the ultimate world-cruising family yacht” for Packer and is the longest ever yacht delivered by the Italian shipbuilding company, Benetti.

Accomodating up to 22 guests in 11 suites, IJE has everything a luxury yacht owner could ever need, including a cinema, dedicated nightclub and lift.

The main deck area has a large swimming pool as well as open-air dining, while a fire pit for cooler evenings can be found on the bridge deck. According to Burgess, the gym and tenders are also among the largest on a yacht of this class.

IJE can reach a maximum speed of 20 knots and sails at a cruising speed of 16 knots while its fuel tank capacity of 345,000 litres can see the superyacht travel approximately 6,500 nautical miles.

The superyacht was put on the market amid discussion about Crown Casino being stripped of its gambling licences following a royal commission into the casino’s operations. Packer has a 37 per cent stake in Crown.
