Labor Leader Anthony Albanese Puts Marrickville Investment Property To The Market

Federal opposition leader Anthony Albanese has listed his three-bedroom investment property in Sydney’s inner west, capitalising on the city’s booming housing market.

He is set to make a pretty penny as well, having purchased the Marrickville investment property in 2012 for $1.115 million with his then partner Carmel Tebbutt, the property has a price guide of $2.1 million.

The property has since been transferred into Mr Albanese’s sole ownership, records show, with Shad Hassen of The Agency listing the two-storey property.

Mr Albanese also owns a two-story duplex in Dulwich Hill, which he purchased in 2015 for $1.175 million alongside his primary residence which is also in Marrickville.

The home is split across two levels, with the lower ground-floor housing two bedrooms with access to a deck and luscious green garden and built-in robes, alongside a bathroom and laundry.

On the ground floor enjoys an open-plan living, kitchen and dining area which blends out onto the balcony which enjoys its own built-in BBQ.

Marrickville has 142 available rental homes and 32 available for sale, with homes in the suburb enjoying a 2.64 per cent in growth over the past year.

Over the year, median property values have ranged from $1,520,000 for homes to $740,000 for apartments with rentals sitting at an average of $730 per week with a 2.5 per cent annual rental return and units, which rent for $450 per week with a 3.2 per cent annual rental yield.
