MJ’s ‘Space Jam Jordans’ Sell At Sotheby’s For Almost $240K

In partnership with Project Blitz, Sotheby’s has auctioned off Michael Jordan’s Air Jordan sneakers, which were made for his role in the 1996 hit Hollywood movie Space Jam.

The unique piece of memorabilia fetched for around A$239,000 this week – the Air Jordan 11’s signed by Michael Jordan on the left shoe in silver ink. This puts this set of Air Jordans sneakers up in the ranks with some of the most expensive shoes to ever be sold at auction to date.

With only a few pairs in existence, the super rare pair of Nikes were purchased not long after Sotheby’s put them up for auction on 26 July. As a ‘player sample’, the shoes are in Michael Jordan’s size 13 and are in perfect condition. The pair was sold in a custom wooden box.

The most expensive shoes ever auctioned are the Nike Air Yeezy’s which were worn by Kanye West at the Grammys and sold for approximately A$2.4 million through Sotheby’s.
