Created by Chef Marc Guibert at Lindeth Howe Hotel in Windermere, United Kingdom, the A$38,900 confectionary is made of exclusive ingredients like caviar and four different types of the finest Belgian chocolate. The Chocolate Pudding requires a three week pre-order and is styled like a Faberge Easter egg layered with champagne jelly and a light biscuit joconde and is glazed with edible gold leaf and adorned with a two-carat diamond.

Diamond Fruitcake

Created for the Takashimaya Department Store in Tokyo, this extravagant two-layer hexagonal fruit cake is adorned with 223 diamonds weighing around 170 carats. The ‘Diamond Fruitcake’ costs almost A$2.5 million and was made for promotional display only taking six months to design and an entire month to create. Although the expensive cake is edible, as you’d expect, the diamonds must be removed before consumption.

Strawberries Arnaud

Devised by Arnaud’s Restaurant in New Orleans, America, this A$14.2 million dessert called the Strawberry Arnaud includes a 10.06-carat royal blue diamond ring supplied by MS Rau Antiques. The one-of-a-kind dessert was created as a special dish for Valentine’s Day in 2016 and features 24-carat gold flake toppings, whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, and a variety of expensive champagnes and liquors.

Bloomsbury’s Golden Phoenix Cupcake

Hailed as the world’s most expensive cupcake, the tiny treat from Dubai’s Bloomsbury’s Cupcakes was unveiled at the opening of the Bloomsbury’s store at the Dubai Mall in 2011. Costing over A$1,130, the chocolate cupcake is baked with premium Amedei Porcelana chocolate, Ugandan vanilla beans and covered in 23-carat edible gold sheets. It’s also dusted with edible gold dust, garnished with organic chocolate-covered strawberries and presented with a golden spoon served on a Villari 24-carat gold empire cake stand.

Frozen Haute Chocolate Ice Cream Sundae

Declared the world’s most expensive dessert by Guinness World Records in 2007, this frozen treat is served at Serendipity 3 restaurant, New York, USA. Made in partnership with luxury jeweller Euphoria New York, the over A$36,000 dessert uses a blend of 28 cocoas, including 14 of the world’s most expensive, and is decorated with five grams of edible 23-karat gold. It’s served in a goblet with a base of 18-karat gold bracelet with one carat of white diamonds and eaten with a gold spoon decorated with white and chocolate-coloured diamonds.

Fortress Stilt Fisherman Indulgence 

Priced at just over A$21,000, this decadent fruit-infused dessert is the finest culinary offering at the Fortress Resort and Spa in Galle, Sri Lanka. Created by special request only, the handmade delicacy comprises a gold leaf Italian cassata flavoured with Irish cream and is served with a Champagne sabayon sauce adorned with gold leaf. The centrepiece is a hand-crafted chocolate carving of a stilt fisherman adorned with a 80-carat aquamarine gemstone.

Jasper Restaurant Golden Cannoli

Restaurateur and Chef Jasper Mirabile Jr. creates what is believed to be the most expensive cannoli ever made. Costing over A$37,700, the sweet Italian treat is made from rich dark chocolate, a whipped ricotta cheese filing mixed with candied lemon, chocolate and lemon peel all wrapped in gold leaf. The cannoli at Jasper Restaurant in Kansas City, United States also comes as a package with an Italian diamond-studded necklace and champagne.
