Billionaire Insight: How Australia’s Richest Woman Gina Rinehart Spends her Wealth

With an incomprehensible net worth of around A$31 billion, Gina Rinehart is Australia’s wealthiest citizen.

Driven by inflated iron ore prices, Gina Rinehart increased her personal worth by more than A$2 billion in six months to remain in the number one spot on the Australian Financial Review’s Rich List for 2021.

Rinehart is the Chairman of Hancock Prospecting, one of Australia’s most successful private mining companies which has accrued much of its fortunes from the Roy Hill mining project. As Australia’s richest woman, Rinehart leads an undoubtedly lavish lifestyle.

A$34M Noosa Mansion

When you’re a billionaire, no home is out of your price range, including one of Queensland’s most expensive residential properties.

Dubbed ‘Webb House‘, Rinehart is rumoured to have purchased a beachside mansion in Noosa for around A$34 million in July 2021. Perched on more than 2,000 square metres, the four-bedroom modern mansion was negotiated off the market and offers uninterrupted views of the beach below.

A$18.5M Hawthorne Estate

In addition to Mrs Rinehart’s recent beachside mansion purchase, the mining magnate also bought a historic riverside estate in Hawthorne for around A$18.5 million. After being granted approval from the local council, Rinehart is to extend the palatial mansion to add a master suite with a lounge room.

A$20M Penthouse Abroad, The World

When Gina Rinehart isn’t jet setting across Australia, it seems she is unwinding in her penthouse on the luxury cruise ship, The World. As the largest privately owned luxury residential cruise ship, Rinehart’s penthouse reportedly costs upwards of A$20 million.

Rinehart’s Wardrobe

Despite being criticised for her style over the years, Rinehart has shown a real interest in fashion. Recently, she attended the Brisbane Fashion Festival dressed in a white ensemble with a matching white mask and pearl accessories.

The billionaire has also shown her love of haute couture label, Ralph & Russo, wearing the brand’s pieces time and time again, including at the 2019 Melbourne Cup and at a White House state dinner with then-president Donald Trump. It has since been revealed that Rinehart put in two bids for the failing company before withdrawing the offers.
