A Classic Reimagined for the Future: The New Range Rover 2022

Completely redesigned and re-engineered for the new age of transport.

The new 2022 Range Rover is only the fifth generation since 1970 original re-shaped the rules for a 4×4. A testament to its longstanding versatility – the new Range Rover 2022 functions just as well on the mountains and cliffs of the countryside as it does on the city streets.

And while in today’s market we are presented with an overabundance of luxury SUVs, the new Range Rover still manages to command the high status of the inaugural model.

True to its roots, and ready for the future

So what’s new? Here’s a glance at the Land Rover’s flagship automobile, the new Range Rover 2022.

The new Range Rover models comprise plug-in hybrid boosted petrol and diesel engines with an all-electric model to follow in 2024.

The four-engine variations across the lineup go from a 3.0-litre inline-six turbo-diesel with 221kW of power up to a 4.4-litre V8 turbo-petrol with 390kW of power. The hybrid iteration will produce 375kW of power combining a 3.0-litre inline-six petrol engine and an electric motor.

Land Rover claims the 0-100km/h sprint will take 5.6 seconds with an electric range of up to 100km. All models come featuring an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.

The design reflects Land Rovers love of minimalism with calm shapes and harmonious lines sweeping the exterior. Around the rear, the 2022 model debuts what Land Rover calls the ‘worlds first hidden-until-lit’ LED tail-lights. A glance at the front reveals higher-grade digital LED headlights with image projection that can cast up to 16 shadows.

Underneath the Range Rover 2022 is constructed from 80 per cent aluminium with additional strength and rigidity coming from ultra high-tensile steel in specific areas. There’s no doubt the 4×4 is stylish yet strong and with 295mm of ground clearance and 510mm of articulation, it’s likely to be capable off the tarmac.

Inside, it’s what you’d expect from Land Rover, no expense is spared on the luxury technology.

The infotainment is centred around a 13.1-inch curved, floating display, featuring 69 individual electronic control modules. Land Rover’s new Pivi Pro operating system comes with Amazon Alexa voice control and Spotify music streaming functionality as well as the ability for over-the-air software updates.

The four-zone climate control allows each passenger to set their own individual temperature and the Meridian sound system is a gift to the ears complete with 34 speakers and a subwoofer.

The rear comes with executive class seats, rear-seat entertainment and an 8” touchscreen controller housed in the second-row armrest.
