Petit h: Hermès’ Upcycled Luxury Wonderland is in Sydney

Transforming the offcuts of Birkins and leather boots into unexpected and unique little creations, petit h is Hermès’ sustainable solution to excess material.

Featuring key rings, paper weights and totes, petit h is described by the French Maison as ‘creation in reverse’. Upcycling the offcuts into an eclectic mix of little treasures, petit h is a whimsical wonderland that, for a limited time, can now be explored by Sydney-siders.

Open from November 5 to 25, Hermès’ upcycled creations are on display at the petit h pop-up at Sydney’s flagship store in the Trust Building. Against a monochrome setting, petit h will showcase its one-of-a-kind colourful objects and offer a craft workshop so you can build your own object under the guidance of a guest artist.

While the concept of upcycling offcuts seems very timely amid increasing calls for fashion to employ sustainable practices, petit h was launched back in 2010 in Paris.

Encouraging artisans and artists to reinvent the materials that were originally destined for a handbag or sandal, the concept of petit h is a vibrant and exciting form of repurposing textiles and leathers.
