The sustainable bedding brand Coyuchi produces some of the finest organic linen sheets woven from longer, stronger yarns of French flax to create a fabric that’s uniquely soft and durable. The 100 per cent organic linen is woven in Portugal then dyed using low-impact dyes to finish, producing sheets that have quality temperature regulation.

Linoto

Made from linen sourced from Italy and Belgium, and then handcrafted in New York, Linoto’s luxury linen set is available in 26 shades. They have a brilliant blend between being smooth and hefty as well as 11 mattress sizes to choose from. A complete set includes one fitted sheet, one flat sheet, and two pillowcases costing just over A$400.

Cultiver

Crafted from pure linen woven from European flax, Cultiver embraces quality to produce fine bed sheets that are pre-washed for a soft vintage feel. Sustainable and breathable, they come in a range of colours with a generous cut that’s suited to most mattress depths. For A$445 a standard set includes two pillowcases, one flat sheet and one fitted sheet.

Buffy

An eco-friendly option, Buffy’s sheets are made from premium 100 per cent long-staple hemp fibres that gives a causal lived-in look. It’s just as soft and breathable as flax but with a less heavy environmental footprint. They are also antibacterial and naturally resistant to fading, mould, and mildew.

I Love Linen

This Australian label founded by Lauren Roe produces French linen bed sheets in a range of colours and patterns such as gingham and stripes. The lush linen bedding is woven from flax grown in France and stonewashed for a soft feel and the 170gsm ensure they are high quality.

Brooklinen 

Brooklinen’s washed linen sheet collection features a light, airy weave that is stonewashed for the ultimate softness and a signature unfussy look. The 100 per cent linen is made in Portugal from European Flax providing the perfect bed sheets for both warm days or cool nights. A full set costs about A$380 for one flat sheet, one fitted sheet and two pillowcases.

Baloo

A classically elegant set crafted from stonewashed pure French linen for a premium silky smooth feel. With excellent breathability and cooling properties, the US brand’s linen set comes in four earthy, neutral colours. They also specialise in weighted blankets that are made with lead-free glass microbeads and soft premium cotton.

Tuft & Needle

Tuft & Needle’s natural linen sheets are one of the least rumply options combining a lived-in look and a high-end feel. These sheets from the American bedding brand are more polished and smoother than traditional linens – a great option for first time linen buyers. It’s around A$270 for a set comprising one fitted sheet, one top sheet and one or two pillowcases.

West Elm

While the large furniture retailer doesn’t specialise in linen bed sheets, it certainly has a high-quality range in a variety of colours and patterns. Crafted from 100 per cent natural flax, the sheets have a luxe, lived-in look and due to the wash process, each piece will have a slightly unique colour.
