Taking to the Skies: Aston Martin Announce a Series of New Luxury Helicopters

It’s safe to say Aston Martin’s first foray into the skies was a success.

When the luxury British automaker partnered with Airbus Corporate Helicopters to create a series of 15 Aston Martin Edition ACH130 helicopters back in 2020, all but one sold out.

We really did not imagine that the market would move so fast. There’s no question that bringing together our values of excellence and quality with Aston Martin’s commitment to high performance automotive elegance resulted in a helicopter that excites customers.

Orders for the special version of Airbus’s ACH130 helicopter that feature interior and exterior designs created by Aston Martin, came from across the world including South East Asia, Europe, Latin America, New Zealand and North America.

Now the collaboration between the iconic carmaker and aviation manufacturer continues with the announcement of a second series of luxury helicopters.

Following the success of the previous custom helicopters inspired by the Aston Martin DB11, the two companies are releasing another limited-production series of 15 new ACH130 Aston Martin Edition helicopters.

The second series will be the same as the original launched in 2020 and available in four exterior designs with complimentary interiors.

Inside, the spacious cabin is designed for maximum visibility with large windows and up to six forward-facing seats. The interior bears a resemblance to the DB11 sports car designed by Aston Martin, featuring supple leather seats, doors and trim and spread with the brand’s signature elements such as brogue detailing and wings logo.

The outside displays a gradient paint job and a contrasting underbelly with a colour scheme of the label’s signature Stirling Green that transitions into Jet Black with Skyfall Silver accents, Xenon Grey, Arizona, and Ultramarine Black.

Powered by an Arriel 2D jet engine, the luxury helicopter with reach a maximum cruise speed of 134 knots (248km/h), has a 347 nautical mile range and a max flight time of just over four hours.

Each luxury Aston Martin helicopter reportedly costs around A$4.5 million with Aston Martin’s Executive Vice President and Chief Creative Officer, Marek Reichman saying they are delighted by the interest in the aircraft.

As an ultra-luxury brand, Aston Martin is passionate about collaborating with designers and engineers from other disciplines to create special products that represent both our brand values and design ethos. We are delighted with the high interest in the ACH130 Aston Martin Edition and look forward to continuing our fantastic relationship with ACH.

A timeline for production and distribution is yet to be announced.
